The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team will journey to France this summer to compete in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The pursuit of a fourth World Cup trophy is a collective journey that extends beyond the 23 world class athletes and is inclusive of all fans, who will cheer for them every step of the way. To embody this journey, I’m one of twelve female artists who have created vibrant works of art featuring U.S. WNT players in communities across the country. Painted on wall-scapes along prominent city streets, me and these artists have combined our own artistic flair with the charm of the local community, the personality of WNT Players, and the vibrancy of the sport. The corresponding poster series harnesses the creativity of the murals and connects all 23 players to a city near and dear to their heart. This Carli Lloyd mural is designed to unlock a special video message within the U.S. Soccer app from the Women’s National Team as their way of saying “thank you,” while also inspiring fans to come and join them this summer.

Carli Anne Lloyd (born July 16, 1982) is an American soccer player. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist (2008 and 2012), 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, two-time FIFA Player of the Year (2015 and 2016),[3] and a three-time Olympian (2008, 2012, 2016). She currently plays for Sky Blue FC in the National Women’s Soccer League and the United States women’s national soccer team as a midfielder. Lloyd scored the gold medal-winning goals in the finals of the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Olympics. She captained the United States to victory in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup as well as appeared in the 2007 and 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
